A Spot of Christmas Tea

Please Join Me

008

Hi Friends, we are  due for some rain and it is an overcast day in Florida…cooler weather is on its way. This is a perfect day for a spot of tea and some cake. Please join me.

006

This is a made-from-scratch sour cream pound cake that is not for the faint of heart. Haha. It is rich and delicious and has a jillion calories…..who’s counting? ;-) The recipe is from one of the Gooseberry books; I have made it several times for neighbors and friends and it always receives rave reviews.

011

I have had these teacups forever and just love them!

013

I allow a lot of my glaze to do down onto the plate. This cake is just too rich combined with a lot of icing….in fact, it doesn’t need any but I have a sweet husband that won’t eat cake without frosting. (Hope he doesn’t see this….!)

010

012

I am in such a cooking mode….happens every year around this time. I am reading about five cookbooks all at the same time. Help! I’ll send most of the desserts to my husband’s office…just too tempting to leave them in our kitchen. LOL

Thanks for coming by today.

I've had a very dreadful day, and I really needed a spot of Christmas splendor to brighten my spirit. This delectable Christmas bundt with the creamy drizzled icing along with your pretty tea cups and regal silver and tiered trays festively displayed made my night.

I can't speak for your other blog friends, but while you certainly have the magic touch when it comes to beauty and grace, your greatest gift is in bringing a peaceful elegance to those fortunate enough to be around you.

Hello Miss B... I haven't been by in a bit so I have some back-reading to do! Your table is gorgeous but given your talent for tabletop display that doesn't surprise me one little bit.

Love to you girl...off to read~

Hi Barb, Seeing this makes me want some tea (and cake!) and it is almost 10 pm. Love those sweet little cups and saucers.

I was wondering if you were eating all those goodies that I see you display all the time ;) I just can't have that around the house. I made Christmas candy this weekend... and ate it all!

Now I have nothing to take pictures of unless I make more. What to do?!

I am enjoying a great cup of hot tea at the moment. I had a long drive this morning in the rain coming home from one of my son's house. It is cold and supposed to change to snow by tonight. Hope your Tuesday is a terrific one!

Hello Barb, I so enjoyed the eye candy of your wonderful frosted drizzled down cake, too the office I would send it also only after I had a piece, lol. Our days have been darker and snow covered everything to the tune of about 6 inches. I also took out cook books this week, made fudge and sold it at a craft fair, yummy

Hi Barb
The teacups are very pretty and the right colour for this time of year. The cake does look decadent - we can't worry about calories until after Christmas so slice it up and serve it with our tea. :-)
