Goodbye Organization for a Little While
I am ready to start…..Christmas decorating, that is. The one thing I don’t like about it is the disorganization of the house for about three days. Alexandra Stoddard says….”You must make a mess to create beauty.” I’ll go along with that. LOL
I have purchased a new slim tree for the den…the old one was falling apart…and an urn tree for the family room. That is already one more tree than I said I would decorate about a week ago. Help!!!! Haha
I am hoping good sense prevails and I don’t put up the nine-footer in the Living Room……no way! I have my working jeans on and it is time to get at it!!!!!!
Hoping your Christmas decorating goes swimmingly…..whenever you start. Also, have a great weekend.
Add on: Just popping in for a quick hello. I am knee-deep in boxes and ‘stuff.’ I cannot find my white satin ball ornaments. Where did I put them????? Acckkkkkk! Do you ever do this kind of thing?
I am so glad I started decorating early….my hubby and I are already planning what we will do with the first two weekends in December since we won’t be spending them buried in Christmas decorations.
Now, I must remember to put the turkey in the fridge to thaw……..!
Happy weekend everyone.
Barb
Hi Barb, oh I know what you mean. I am trying to put everything away and dust and vacuum because once the Christmas snow and decor gets spread everywhere...cleaning, organization seem to go out the door! Can't wait to see your beautiful decor...which I know it will be. cheer up, put on your favorite Christmas music, light your best smelling candle...and go to work!
ReplyDeleteYay.
Blessings,
Debbie
Good luck and have fun, Barb. I decided not to decorate for X'mas. I won't be here cause 2 daughters are having babies in FL and I will be there on all the coming holidays. Also, our floors are being replaced so I have boxes all over and there is no place for a tree. Poor hubby will be h ome alone in a depressing hime....Christine
ReplyDelete"You must make a mess to create beauty.” That is an understatement! You are so organized already and are ready to start, that is awesome! I can't wait to start, but I'll wait until after Thanksgiving. I'll be back to see all the beauty I know you will create, Barb! Have fun!
ReplyDeleteWay too early for me, lol last minute Barbara that is me, hugs and be happy in all you do.
ReplyDeleteHi Barb! I totally understand!! We brought out the boxes last weekend; and everywhere I look, there is chaos! Drives me crazy! But, I keep telling myself, there is a light at the end of the tunnel!!
ReplyDeleteBelieve it or not... I am almost ready too! The weekend after Thanksgiving, that is when my decorations are coming from the attic:) Have a blessed day, can't wait to see it all decorated! HUGS!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun day you are going to have. I love changing the seasons and putting new things out. I only do a small table top tree here and it's just enough for me. Have a wonderful Thursday!
ReplyDeleteHi Barb, I'm in the same process. quick to decorate and slow to take it down. It takes me about a week but I love the transformation. Your photos are so pretty. Have fun. I sure am.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Jeanne
Oh Barb I know just what you mean... I try to keep the boxes and mess to one spare bedroom and take things out from there and then close the door when I've had enough for the day!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you'll do just fine, just take lots of tea and cookie breaks and ENJOY!
I can't wait to see your new tree all decked out as well as all the rest of your Christmas decorating!!
Big hugs!
I know what you mean about that transition period. Seems like I have more mess that decoration at times!
ReplyDeleteI will wait until after Thanksgiving before the BIG changeover. I will bee looking forward to seeing your Christmas creativeness!
xoxo Bunny Jean

My few things are out already. I don't decorate like I used to when we had Christmas, now we go to daughter #2's home every year.

I'm right behind you Barb. The boxes are being sorted through and the fun starts next Friday. Be careful on the ladder and have fun! Patty
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about the mess. At least Alexandra Stoddard makes it sound better. lol I love the slim trees too and want to get one.
ReplyDeleteDid you feel that?? My heart just skipped a beat! I can't WAIT to see what you have in store this year! I know whatever it is, it'll be knock-our-socks-off gorgeous!

Our tree is up and decorated, though I haven't finished the rest of the house yet. But it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend Barb.

Happy and Fun Weekend Barb.
ReplyDeleteI don't have that what-did-I-put-that-ball because a few years ago I had a psycothic episode ahahaha and stored my Christmas Decorations by colours and themes. Crazy uh?
I'll only start decorating (and in a smaller scale than you) on December 8th so I'm enjoying the frisson in the homes of early-birds like you and "stealing" some inspiration.
Take Care,
Teresa
well girlfriend...since you are so gung-ho...how about coming here and helping me. I am thinking about a construction paper drawing of a Christmas tree....do you think anyone would notice??
ReplyDeleteYou are so wise to start now. I always feel a little cheated that I didn't get to enjoy the decorations longer. It sounds like there's going to be a mighty undertaking at your house! I'm sure it will be gorgeous, can't wait to see!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Patti
Just saw your add-on :) As I type this, Tom is on the roof, putting up our lights! Joy!

Sorry Barb, I'm lucky if I can remember where I stored the tree from year to year. I don't know where your ornaments are, lol! Thanks for the beautiful inspiration. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving dear friend.
