With a mix of casual and elegant
Hello everyone…I am taking a spot of tea to the porch with a friend. As you can see, I love mixing very casual things with elegant elements. I think it makes a much more interesting vignette and is so unexpected.
This is a newly acquired silver tray. I am so into silver these days….just love it. The mugs are Lenox and I really adore them which is unusual since I am not a mug person on the whole. (That sounds funny, doesn’t it?)
I have had the silver acorn napkin rings for a while and you will always see lots of plaids on Bella Vista. I am ‘plaid happy.’
The frosted sugar cookies are out of this world….I purchased these as I am too busy making cupcakes for my husband’s office…..yes, again, this week. Whew! :-)
Spiced Orange Tea.
A little Halloween reading with our tea from Susan Branch’s Autumn book. I love her.
The weather is wonderful. I actually have the family room windows, leading to the sun porch, open today. That is a rare thing for us in Florida….for me, anyway. Now, I’m off to the porch with my tea. Thanks so much for coming by. I hope you are having a wonderful day.

Hi Barb, I would love to drop by one day and have a spot of tea with you, but this is almost as good.
ReplyDeleteI saw a lovely china tea cup and saucer at the GW and thought about you. It was a very delicate sculpted lily in soft greens and white.
Maybe I will get a post written about my tea tray...

This looks heavenly. I can just imagine relaxing with a friend over a hot cup of tea! I really love those little acorn napkin rings!!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week, Barb!

ReplyDeleteGood afternoon Barb,
ReplyDeleteOh, to take tea out on the porch would be such a treat! Our porch days are over for another year but glad I can enjoy yours.
Love your pretty white mugs and the silver is lovely with it. I am really getting into silver myself which is a new thing for me because I've only really started to appreciate the beauty of it recently. Your tray is wonderful! Thank you gracious lady for sharing this with Tea Time and I hope you have a most pleasant day.
Blessings,
Sandi
So peaceful and cozy.
ReplyDeleteThanks for leaving a comment on my blog about bullying. Each person that becomes more aware can make a difference in a child's life. My daughter is a fabulous adult and the bad is behind her.
ReplyDeleteI love your mugs, but am delighted by the ruffled skirt on the creamer. And also a fan of Susan's works of art!

It has been a gorgeous day here too! Perfect for a spot of tea with a friend:) Love your beautiful tray, pretty for FALL! Those are some precious napkin rings!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day my friend! HUGS!
I had a cup of orange spice tea last evening and it did hit the spot. We had rain this morning, but the afternoon turned sunny so I headed out on the patio to catch some rays of warmth for a short while. It is cool here but on sunny days the patio warms up nicely. Your tea times are always so pretty and inviting.
ReplyDeleteI love your casual & elegant mix..it works so well and you know how to make it work too! I so love Susan Branch..have for a long time..she is a great artist and has shared so much of her personal life with the public. She's great..
ReplyDeleteThose cookies look so yummy..I bet everyone casually reaches for more than just one! LOL!
Hi Barb, is there room for one more guest?? A spot of tea sounds lovely... and speaking of lovely... your silver tray and acorn napkin rings made me gasp with delight!!
ReplyDeleteHope you are enjoying Fall... what am I saying, I know you are, aren't you?!;)
A perfect setting for an autumn tea with a friend! I love the plaid with the white, and the acorn napkin rings are so cute!

Hi Barb
ReplyDeleteYour tea table looks inviting and I like plaid too so I feel quite comfortable joining you.
The antique stores here can't give the silver away, the younger generation doesn't want it. I like the big stash I inherited from hubby's aunt and really don't mind cleaning it either.

Everything looks so inviting! Those Lenox mugs are so dainty that they don't really have that heavy mug feeling. Your silver tray is just incredible! I've always had silver sickness. :-) BTW, those are actually some of my favorite cookies even if they are store bought! Love their soft yumminess.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy!
Robin
Your tea tray has just the right mix and the cookies look sooo good. Love your acorn napkin holders and plaid. The spiced orange tea sounds yummy. I'll have to look for some at the store.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
Barb, this post is so pretty! I love your mugs and the river tray and how you mixed everything. Wish I could come have tea with you!
ReplyDeleteI've not heard of Susan Branch until now, but I'm going to look for that book right now. Might I have one of those scrummy looking iced cookies while I'm doing so?
ReplyDeleteVery pretty Barb. I'll take a cookie please. Yum! :)
ReplyDeleteDearest Barb,
ReplyDeleteWhat a pleasant treat your teatime vignette is this week! I do so love seeing how you effortlessly combine your pretty mugs, plaids and silver tray with your yummy cookies and tea.., Simply delightful!
I love Susan Branch also.
