Seasonal Changes in the Kitchen
I spent part of Saturday redoing one of my favorite pieces of furniture in our home….a large Country/Farmhouse hutch in the kitchen. This hutch just begs to be redone for the holidays and different seasons….it has lots of room to display items.
This was the way I had it decorated for the summer and must admit as much as I love Fall, I was sorry to take this apart. I’m so sentimental. ;-)
I have tried much harder this year to stay away from intense colors but found this quite impossible with this hutch. It just seems to be happiest when dressed in beautiful Autumn colors. I used pieces of burlap and find that I just adore this material….it is so earthy.
I am a Gooseberry cookbook lover and have most of them. I dearly love these cookbooks
More of my beloved Autumn Byers Carolers.
This prim Harvest doll was made by a special friend….I will always cherish it.
My pine cone flatware that I will be using in a tablescape very soon. ;-)
I hope you enjoyed my hutch….I had a ball putting it together. Thanks so much for your visit.

I can see why you love to play with your hutch, Barb...it's beautiful and loves to be dressed up! I like it all ready for fall, since the style of it is so country and farmhouse looking!! I'm loving the burlap accents and all the natural elements...not to mention the cute dolls. I LOVE Gooseberry Patch {are they all about cookbooks now? I used to get all sorts of their things through the catalog}. Their books always make me feel like baking!!
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a wonderful Sunday!
XO,
Janie
Hi Barb,
ReplyDeleteYour hutch is lovely with all the fall decor, which I do enjoy at this time of year. Burlap is fun! I think I should get some to play with.
Thank you for your recent comment and for thinking about me! Very kind of you!!! The house isn't as "busy" with 2 dogs :) We are all adjusting!
Warmly,
deb :)
Your fall decor in the hutch looks great. I love the pinecone flatware, very unique. The rim of your plates are gorgous. Happy fall!
ReplyDeleteBarb, your hutch decorated for the fall is very pretty!
ReplyDeleteDear Barb,
ReplyDeleteI too feel the same way about seeing summer's past, but fall has such beauty that we soon forget yesterday and enjoy what nature brings next. Of course I'm still counting the days till spring! i adore your farm style hutch..it's a beauty
Hi Barb.
ReplyDeleteIt looks so wonderful! You are so good at making it beautiful around you. I love everything in these pictures:)) They are so inspiring!
Thank you for sharing this with us. It is a pleasure to visit your blog. Wish you a great new week. Hugs from Ellen.
Very pretty, Barb. I love your carolers! That's what I am posting for Met Mon. too, rearranging the hutch...Christine
ReplyDeleteSo nice! I love redecorating for fall, too. And, I agree - it's often sad to see the former season's pretties get packed away. New inspirations next year, though - and returning favorites, I'm sure. Love your hutch - and those Byers, too!
ReplyDeleteJoy!

Hi Barb, love your hutch all dressed for fall. Anything lighter in color would have gotten lost in this beautiful hutch. Love the feathers and pinecone flatware. Looking forward to seeing them in a tablescape. hugs ~lynne~
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful Barb! Love your touches of fall!
ReplyDeleteIt's all so pretty! You have such neat fall accessories! Well done!
ReplyDeletePam
Gorgeous autumn post! Love those warm fall colours. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHope to see you on my blog:)
Your hutch looks fabulous for autumn. I really like the feathers, I am going to have to get myself some. Maybe check with some of my hunting friends.
ReplyDeleteI thought I was the only one that gets sentimental over her decorations. I don't talk about it much, but I am often in tears either putting it out, or packing it away. It has gotten worse since my health issues....but I cry at parades too! So yeah, I have someone that sorta understands. I am looking at your hutch for about the third or fourth time now!!
ReplyDeleteHi Barb, beautiful hutch, love all you have done!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Debbie
Hi Barb
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! Love your Fall display! So much detail! Love how you put things together. I worked on Fall decorating too this weekend. Now if the weather would cooperate! Haha!

Hello Barb,
ReplyDeletelove the autumn feeling.
Have a nice day,
Sylvia
Oh, I agree, you cannot stay away from the beautiful fall colors even when your favorites are the softer colors in the pallet. In the autumn my golds and burgundys and pumpkin colors come out and shout "Hello" to everyone! Your hutch is lovely! Can't wait to see your autumn table setting.

ReplyDeleteI love your FALL Hutch! It is gorgeous! Those carolers are just too precious! Have a blessed day dear Barb, HUGS!
ReplyDeleteOh I just love your hutch! I hope you will add your lovely metamorphosis to my Fall in Love linky party on Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteUntil then, stop by and see the under $20 makeover I gave an ugly brass light fixture.
Happy Monday!
Lovely looking hutch, your decor goes very nicely for fall.
ReplyDeleteYour hutch is delightful. I'm thinking it is even a better place to decorate than your mantle. I don't have either one here at my house but loved seeing yours. It's amazing how beautifully you put it all together. Decorative yet still useful too. Hope your Monday is a wonderful one!
ReplyDeleteLove your pretty hutch Barb. It does look fun to "play" with. I love the summer decor too.
ReplyDeleteDebbie
Barb,
ReplyDeleteYour hutch looks beautiful!! { I love it in white too } I must get me some burlap to play with, I am seeing it everywhere and loving it.
Blessings~
Barb I absolutly love your hutch. And I totally get it about being sentimental. I have a hard time packing up holiday and seasonal items. I truly hate to see summer go because I dont like the cold and after christmas its so depressing for months! I love fall and I love love how you have decorated the hutch. You are absolutly right it begs to be decorated and changed around often. Love it!!!
ReplyDeleteI can certainly understand how hard it is to put away all those wonderful white things, but I think it was worth it! The hutch looks gorgeous and you have the perfect mix of elegant and whimsy! It would be fun to have something like that to decorate.
ReplyDeleteLove the kitchen hutch and Fall colors! The Carolers really add character.
ReplyDeleteCamille
