A Quick Hello

rose collageHello, dear Bloggy Friends,

I am working away in my studio. I have definitely bitten off more than I can chew….the job is massive. I just came in like a whirlwind and tore it all apart. Oh my! I have a different concept in mind for the reworking of this area. I don’t craft nearly as much as I once did, so….I am reworking it into a writer’s studio, crafting and sitting areas. Thankfully, it is a large space but, I am up to my ears in work.

I have also decided to rework the accessories in the Family Room and pull out more of the blue color! I sometimes question my sanity. Haha.

Is it a curse or a blessing to be creative?

Thinking of all of you.

  1. I think it's a blessing to be creative. I can't wait to see what you do. Sometimes change is good. If you don't craft as much as before, why not make it more of a room you will enjoy. Don't work too hard! Linda

  6. Good question. But I think it's more of a blessing. I always feel sorry for people who just can't seem to pull a room together, or who do not care if it looks good or not! LOL!

    Can't wait to see it.

    hugs

  14. It certainly can be a little of both, but in your case I would say a blessing for sure. The curse would come I suppose from when your mind never wants to stop from all the ideas forming in your head. I am sure it will be lovely and spell Barb all over.

  17. Barb,

I have been sort of doing the same thing since last year. I am in the final stages and it just starting to work for me. I needed to organize my space and my stuff.

I know you will be just thrilled when it is all done.

  18. Creating your special space is a wonderful idea. I still have aspirations of crafting but Lots could just be thrown out and I'd never miss it. It will be wonderful when you've got it just the way you want it.

  20. I am agreeing with everyone else Barb; it's a blessing. Why not make this a place you can go to and enjoy doing so many things you love. Can't wait to see what changes you make.

  22. I once decided to re-paper my then infant daughter's bedroom. The room was small, I figured a weekend's work. Max. Ooo baby, two weeks later ..... LOL!

You'll see light at the end of the tunnel eventually Barb. As the saying goes, if it's worth doing, it's worth doing right.

  24. Since I get pretty messy when creating I'll say it's both a blessing and a curse! LOL! You've got me motivated though, maybe I'll go "play" some this afternoon.

  25. In your case, it is a blessing but what you do ends up working! In my case, I can visualize what I want but can't get there!! I can't wait to see what you come up with!

  26. It's both! ;)

But like anything else in life, you have to take the good with the bad...like change!

Enjoy the reordering of your room - I'm sure it'll be all the more special once you give it your magic touch!

  29. For the most part I think being creative is a blessing, speaking for myself anyway...
I very seldom get bored, because I can always find some creative way to entertain myself!!

But I think I get what you mean about the curse part too... because I know I feel like I've got to be changing things constantly!
Plus I'm always my own worst critic about everything I do.

I'm sure your studio will turn out wonderful Barb!! Have fun!!
    Hugs, Sherri:)
