Candle Toppers

Another Passion – Oh My!

001 My husband and I were having lunch at Cracker Barrel today. Of course, I had to check out the store section and lo and behold, guess what I saw….this adorable pumpkin candle topper. I love candle toppers and I love pumpkins….especially little happy ones like this. I almost let out a yelp. I can get the biggest kick out of almost nothing. Don’t laugh. :-)

002 A ‘smile-maker’ for sure!

003 Do you love candles? I have a total weakness for them. If I showed you all my candles, I would get arrested. Accckkkkk!!!!!! Just ask my hubby.

Happy Sunday!

Beautiful Fall

Autumn Touches Around the House

014 Hello Everyone…seems like I have been away forever! I have a couple of things in my personal life that are taking up most of my time right now. Yikes! Life does often get in the way of blogging, doesn’t it? :-)

016  If you are a regular reader of Bella Vista, you already know how much I love my Byers Choice Carolers. I have been unpacking my Fall carolers and I’m having so much fun…they are my favorites. I also have a large and growing Christmas collection.

005

010 This is my newest Caroler…she is the Harvest Good Witch….I’m only showing a peek and of course, I will place her in a Halloween vignette…..:-)

012

She was designed by Joyce Byer (the owner of the company) and Jill Bauer, QVC host. This is the Good Witch for 2010…they are planning to do a Harvest Good Witch for years to come.

007

009

(Added August 2011) This is the Harvest Good Witch for 2011….designed by Joyce and Jill; she just arrived and I am so delighted with her. I have already displayed her on the den mantel. {Can’t help myself.} Most of my Fall decorating will be in light colors this year but she still makes my heart sing. I will, of course, place her in a Halloween vignette for the young ones that visit for the holiday. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I adore the little children and all their costumes! :-)

021 Have you seen this Victoria? I am drooling.

025

I hope you are having a wonderful day…..you are always close in my thoughts.

Fall Village

A Passion For Me

IMG_1899I have had a number of emails requesting information about my Fall Village. These are pictures from a couple of years ago. They aren’t the best as I have learned a lot about photography since I started blogging. :-)

I started collecting villages in 2005 and since I am NOT a halfway person about anything….my collection is overflowing now. I will certainly post pictures of this year’s village as soon as I can find the time to set it up. If you have ever set up one of these villages, you know the time it takes. It is amazing! But, I truly love it. I also have a Christmas Village but the Fall one speaks to my heart the most.

IMG_1905 The pictures are darker to help you see the lights in the little houses.

IMG_1907 I hope you enjoyed seeing them. How is your Fall Decorating coming along? Mine is slow, slow this year. I have too many other things taking up my time. Yikes! But, there is always tomorrow. :-)

Have a blessed weekend.

Fall Nesting Party

Getting Ready for the Autumn Season

003Hello Friends, I am joining Melissa at The Inspired Room for her third annual Fall Nesting Party. This is so much fun and many thanks to Melissa for hosting!

I don’t have a lot of my Fall decorating done for this year…I am gradually working on it when time allows. I thought I would show some pictures from past Autumns in Bella Vista. I do hope you enjoy them.

Books…..I have stacks of Autumn books and they are the very first thing I bring out each year.

013 006

Pillows and candles….I cannot get enough and I am always on the lookout for sweet little pillows to tuck all over the house. I like candles of any kind….as long as they are scented and fill the house with sweet smells.

027

010This is my favorite Autumn wreath….it just makes me smile each time I pass it.

011

During the Fall season, I will buy a LOT of Granny Smith Apples. I use them for all kinds of baking!

010

008 I have a passion for leaf dishes and especially in this shade of green……ahhhh!

035

I love Halloween. My husband and I are the biggest kids of all of them! :-)

011

We always pay a visit to the Pumpkin Patch during early October. Oh the complete joy of it! I am crazy…..crazy for pumpkins. Don’t ask me why! I just love them.

My Autumn Byers Choice Carolers are my favorites. I like them even better than the Christmas ones!

IMG_1884

This is a tiny corner of my Fall Village. It has grown out of control…..did I say that? Ha. This year I have decided to divide it among three rooms.

Thanks so much for visiting with me. As you can see, I am in love with the Autumn Season….it is pure heaven to me. It was a joy to have YOU stop by.

Fall Blessings, Barb

Nesting

Beaded Garlands

002Hello Everyone…I hope you are having a relaxing holiday. We are playing some and working some….mostly working. Ha! I am puttering around in the house adding Fall touches as I am moved to. I have discovered these wonderful little beaded swags and I am having such fun adding them to mirrors and pictures; they add such a graceful touch.

006 As I travel around Blogland, I am seeing such wonderful Fall pictures everywhere. I just love it! That is just one of the things I love about blogging….the inspiration!

Have a wonderful day! :-)

Hugs, Barb

Concentrating On…..

The Little Things in Life

005 Hello Sweet Friends, first, many thanks for all the wonderful and heartwarming comments about my loss in the post below. Blogger friends are among the dearest of all. I appreciate each and every one of you!

003

I am looking at the little things in life right now. The color of a flower…the bright light of the day, the stars at night. I have always felt that when the little things are right…the big things work out much better. Do you ever feel this way?

I have started my Fall decorating….only a little bit but candles are one of the first things I bring out. I adore Fall scents. They actually make my heart race with joy.

I have decided to split my Fall Village up this year and place little houses in different spots around the house. This seems so much more manageable to me (as opposed to massing a village which could take days)  and I am quite excited about it.

010And, oh my, the cooking I am doing! I have cooked for days….I always do this when I am a bit down. It just lifts my spirits to fill the house with wonderful smells and good food. I am having a ball with the new Gooseberry cookbook I am showing above. Have you seen it?

I am sending you my best…thanks for being there for me. You have no idea what it meant to me.
