Planning Ahead for Some Fun

 

Hi Everyone…..I actually had a bit of time to sit and relax today….whew, and I got to thinking about roosters. Okay, I know I have a slight weakness here! Ha. I love roosters…..anyway, I started thinking about the Rooster Party I have planned for this coming summer. Do you all remember all the fun we had last year with the Rooster Party? (The 2009 Rooster Button is on my sidebar and you can click on the image to check it out.)

I have the 2010 Rooster Party planned for sometime in July (I will let everyone know as soon as I choose the date)  and I do hope you will join me. I will have a new button made for this year and I’m also planning a couple of giveaway surprises for the participants to enter. The giveaways will be Roosters…..goodness, what else?!!

I know this is sometime off…..but there’s nothing like planning ahead. I hope all of you have a lovely and relaxed weekend. Thinking of you!

Life Changing Book

I Just Adore Alexandra Stoddard

  This morning, while sitting at my desk in my studio, I was pondering this sweet book. It changed my life when I read it in the early 90’s. Living a Beautiful Life by Alexandra Stoddard was written in 1986 and is still being published to this day! The cover has changed several times and this is my original one. I adore it!

My entire perspective changed after reading this……I started paying far more attention to the ‘little things’ in my life and being more grateful. This book also helped me to be the ordered person I am today. Once you read about how order plays such an important part of a happy life….you won’t want to live any other way.

So dear bloggy friends, I wanted to share this with you. Try and read this if you can….you will love it. Hope you have a wonderful and happy day!

My Own Chef

I Have Lots of Decorating Plans for this Little Fellow

Happy Saturday Everyone!  Just popping in to show you all my sweet little chef. I have been wanting this for a while and he went on sale for half off at Hobby Lobby….so he had to come home with me. Isn’t he just the cutest; I am going to have so much fun with him.

My Sitting Room

A Personal Little Space Just for Me  

Hi all….I’m finally getting a chance to post pictures of my little sitting room. We still have one or two things to complete but they will have to wait, for now. :-) This little room…just over 100 square feet….is right off our bedroom and is strictly for me. It is my private space in which I sit, reflect and use to read. The entire end wall, from floor to ceiling, is a bookcase. Of course, this space was constructed by my darling husband….Mr. Talented!

We tiled the floor…after a water leak ruined my white carpeting…and added an area rug. I also removed the pink and decided to do the room in soft, soft colors; I wanted a very calming space and feel I have achieved my goal.

 

  

 

I hope you enjoyed your visit and peeking into my little room. I am truly overjoyed with it.

Flower Power and Goat Carts

 Filling Mine with Flowers…..Complete Joy

   Hello Friends….goodness, I miss all of you so much. I am still working away and managed to also have a little stomach virus in the middle of everything. Ouch….I am much better now. :-)

One of my spring joys is filling my goat carts with flowers. The one above is at the entrance to my favorite  quaint little garden center. The second one is one of mine (during porch construction a couple of years ago). Hubby and I usually work in our flower beds first and then fill these delightful little carts. It is our way of saying hello to the spring and summer season. What fun! Also…..I could not resist throwing in a picture of using it in the Fall. Yikes…..I am a mess, I know. :-)

Today I start painting the interior of our rental home. I am NOT a great painter….of walls, that is. I do love decorative painting. :-) I am too fast and get too messy which drives my poor hubby up the wall. So, friends, this should be an interesting day. Heeeeee!!!!

 I Hope Life is Treating You Well

Hello dear Friends, how are you all doing? I hope you had a lovely weekend.

I’m still working hard but feeling blessed with all that we are getting done. Among all the other jobs, I am spring cleaning in our home and shaping up the garden…..oh, it feels so delightful. I just feel like throwing my arms around my house during this time of year. I have the windows open and the breeze is so refreshing.

Anyway, I wanted to say hi and also mention I am having problems with my comment moderation. After I click publish (multi-times !), some of my comments are disappearing. This has been going on for about two weeks. Are any of you having problems with this?

To My Sweet Friends

Touching Base with All of You

Hello dear Bloggy Buddies, I am taking just a moment to touch base with all of you. You can’t imagine how much I think of all of you throughout my day. My husband and I are knee deep in projects….some fun and some are just major amounts of work. I have worked harder in the last two weeks than I have in my whole life, I think. Ha!

We have rental property and our longtime renters just moved out….after 12 years,  and my darling husband and I have decided to handle the revamping of the house ourselves….so needless to say, I will be up to my ears in work for a while. We are both die-hard do it yourselfers and we consider this a challenge…..and indeed, it is!

The fun work of my little sitting room continues and I just had to show you my new Rachel Ashwell pillow, above. Isn’t it heavenly? Well, I will run….please be patient with me; I will visit as soon as possible. I really care so much for ALL of you….what precious friends you are to me!

Just a Tease

The Room is Coming Along Great

Hello Everyone! Wow, I have missed blogging and I’m back just to show you a tiny tease of my sitting room. The work has been slow as we have several projects running at one time.  I have challenged myself to redo this room without spending a lot of money….so far, I am doing well. :-)

The decor is strictly for myself…this is my personal space and I am having a wonderful time just playing around with different settings.
