A Passion For Me
I have had a number of emails requesting information about my Fall Village. These are pictures from a couple of years ago. They aren’t the best as I have learned a lot about photography since I started blogging. :-)
I started collecting villages in 2005 and since I am NOT a halfway person about anything….my collection is overflowing now. I will certainly post pictures of this year’s village as soon as I can find the time to set it up. If you have ever set up one of these villages, you know the time it takes. It is amazing! But, I truly love it. I also have a Christmas Village but the Fall one speaks to my heart the most.
The pictures are darker to help you see the lights in the little houses.
I hope you enjoyed seeing them. How is your Fall Decorating coming along? Mine is slow, slow this year. I have too many other things taking up my time. Yikes! But, there is always tomorrow. :-)
Have a blessed weekend.
Barb
Looks wonderful Barb. I have a few pieces packed away. Haven't had them out in years. I should go look for them.
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful. I haven't been in the mood yet to decorate. Your very talented!
ReplyDeleteYour Fall Village is so pretty.... I want to move right in!! LOL!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!!
Love,
Marilyn
There's something heart-warming and cathartic about a lovely little fall village all lit up on a brisk and blustery autumn night. Michaels has so many cute new Lemax ones this year for fall - have you seen them?

Hello Barb,
ReplyDeleteI adore villages and I always set my Christmas village out in early November and leave it out until Easter. For years I had it spread out all along my upper kitchen cabinets and kept it out all year round! I love a whimsical touch in my home and a little village can certainly achieve that!
Yours is simply adorable and I love the little truck and tractor! Love your bit of whimsy there, my friend! Thank you for sharing; it's been a pleasure looking at it.
I see you also have some Rose Chintz on display; my favourite dishes!
Blessings,
Sandi
Very Pretty! Have not done any Fall decorating here.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend.
I knew it would be beautiful, Barb!!

These villages are definetly a lot of work, but they are so beautiful and worth every sweat filled minute. Love your village...the barn and general store are my favorites. Can't wait to see your set up this year. I have not started by fall decorating yet...trying to wait a couple more weeks.
ReplyDeleteOh Barb, your fall village is lovely. You're right there is just something special about it. I know what you mean about finding the time to set it up. I have a Christmas village and I usually ask DH to help me.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your nice comments you leave me on my blog...I do so appreciate them. Have a good weekend.
Hugs, Sue@sprucelakecottage.
Your fall village is so pretty!! I love the trees and the lighting.
ReplyDeleteAdorable! As always you show your flair for decorating. The look is especially! VERY PRETTY!!!Hugs, Fatima-Scrapart.
ReplyDeleteWow...adorable!!
ReplyDeleteYour village is precious. It would take a lot of time to do that. I've done a Christmas village in the past and it took a lot of time too. I don't know if I'll do that this year or not. More and more I do less and less and what I do takes longer too. I hope your days slow down a bit for you.
ReplyDeleteBarb,
ReplyDeleteI love the village. I had a Christmas "town" at one point. I loved the accessories that went along with the village and it grew and grew into a town! I gave it up when we moved to Florida and I sometimes kick myself. I may set up just a small neighborhood this year!
Carol
Lovvvve your village. So fall looking and making me wish it was cooler outside. Our La. 97° day is more like summer. Soooo ready for fall Ü
ReplyDeleteMy husband does a Christmas Village and I know how much work and time goes into it. Your autumn village is real consolation for shorter autumn days and longer nights.
ReplyDeleteI am in love! To be honest with you...I would be the first in line for the autumn village verses the winter village. So very pretty!
ReplyDeleteBarb,
ReplyDeleteI understand what you mean about being slow with decorating. It's been so hot here in Florida. I know the calendar says Autumn begins this month, but the weather here isn't cooperating yet! LOL!
I'm with you my friend. My decorating has not even BEGUN! And won't for a while. Just no time.
ReplyDeleteI just LOVE this village. I have a Christmas one - but now you have me itching for one like this! GEEZ!
Have a wonderful weekend. Hug your family!
HUGS! Karen
Your village is so sweet Barb, I've enjoyed viewing it and look forward to this year's display. I felt like I was looking in a store window as you have so many details.
ReplyDeleteI did go and get some of my autumn decor out and am just about finished!
Judith

ReplyDeleteHello sweet lady...
ReplyDeleteOhhh Barb, your autumn village is fabulous!!! I have seen many different versions of the Christmas villages but this is the first time I've seen one for autumn! The colors and detail is spectacular...I can certainly see why it's a favorite!!! I love that it lights up too...sooo pretty! What fun it must be to add pieces to this collection! Thank you so much for sharing it with us...this was such a treat, my friend!
Warmest wishes,

ReplyDeleteHi Barb, Everything looks so pretty. This is my weekend to clean (ugh) and decorate. Both the porch and my hutch will be decked out in fall yumminess in the next few days. We are having delightful fall weather here which helps in the inspiration department. Have a blessed weekend, Patty
ReplyDeleteSimply lovely. I have not decorated one little bit yet...but then we just returned home from the mountains and things have been a bit busy leading up until then. However, I love what you have done...

ReplyDeleteI love Fall, my favorite season, and I love your little Fall village! It sure takes a lot of time and effort to put it up doesn't it. I have an Original Snow Village tucked away and was too busy to put it up last year. Yours is an inspiration. Maybe I'll do it this year. Thanks for sharing. As always, everything you arrange is lovely!~Ames

ReplyDeleteBarb, your village is lovely. I've not seen a fall village. This is a wonderful tradition, but I suspect it is a terrific amount of time and energy to put this out each year. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Oh Barb having the village all lit up makes it even more charming than before!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Sherri:)
Spent the day getting my fall dishes all cleaned and in the cupboards (and made three batches of grape jelly) and have wondered more than once if I should even mess with my village this year. Your pictures inspire me to go grab those bins and get started. :)
ReplyDeleteI love your village decor. Brings back a lot of happy memories. Thank you for sharing. Blessings, Janet
ReplyDeleteI do love the fall village. Fall is such a peaceful time. I have only hung the wreath so far. Hope you have a super nice day.

ReplyDeleteBarb, How beatiful...thank you so much for sharing. I have a "Small" Christmas village, but I haven't put it up for a while. My house is small and I always have trouble trying to find a place to put it...but this year, I must find room for it somewhere, I enjoy it so much.
