Getting Ready for the Autumn Season
Hello Friends, I am joining Melissa at The Inspired Room for her third annual Fall Nesting Party. This is so much fun and many thanks to Melissa for hosting!
I don’t have a lot of my Fall decorating done for this year…I am gradually working on it when time allows. I thought I would show some pictures from past Autumns in Bella Vista. I do hope you enjoy them.
Books…..I have stacks of Autumn books and they are the very first thing I bring out each year.
Pillows and candles….I cannot get enough and I am always on the lookout for sweet little pillows to tuck all over the house. I like candles of any kind….as long as they are scented and fill the house with sweet smells.
This is my favorite Autumn wreath….it just makes me smile each time I pass it.
During the Fall season, I will buy a LOT of Granny Smith Apples. I use them for all kinds of baking!
I have a passion for leaf dishes and especially in this shade of green……ahhhh!
I love Halloween. My husband and I are the biggest kids of all of them! :-)
We always pay a visit to the Pumpkin Patch during early October. Oh the complete joy of it! I am crazy…..crazy for pumpkins. Don’t ask me why! I just love them.
My Autumn Byers Choice Carolers are my favorites. I like them even better than the Christmas ones!
This is a tiny corner of my Fall Village. It has grown out of control…..did I say that? Ha. This year I have decided to divide it among three rooms.
Thanks so much for visiting with me. As you can see, I am in love with the Autumn Season….it is pure heaven to me. It was a joy to have YOU stop by.
Fall Blessings, Barb

Gorgeous. My five-year old and I really think we need your Fall Village. It is adorable. If we had it, it would grow too! Love the wreath and the vignette on the table with the cloche and witch. Much inspiration here! Love your decor.

Your fall decor is inspiring and definitely putting me in the mood! I love what you have shown so far of your village. I didn't know there was such a thing, gorgeous! I like your collection of books, too, we share the same taste.
Hop you have a great week, Barb!

Hi Barb...ok, lots of cuteness going on by you. I am not into Halloween at all, but I do like your little witch....and your village is so cute....but I am really crazy about your carolers. I am thinking of getting the Christmas ones. I saw them last year and didn't...but I just might this year, cuz you know I am deprived when it comes to Christmas decorations. I mean, I only could decorate 3 other houses besides mine...but really, shouldn't it be four??? Great job with the decorations...can't wait to see more. I haven't done one thing!!!
Oh how precious Barb! The village is darling and full of charm. Thank you for sharing it. The little fall tree had stolen my heart. :)
Your photos are wonderful and make me feel the Fall in the air even though it is 91 degrees outside here in south Texas. I love pumpkins too! Love all the colors.
Have a wonderful week.

Oh I just love it all. So pretty. The little village is stunning and the centerpiece is fantastic. Everything is so pretty. Beautifully done. Hugs, Marty
I am ready for fall and its low temps. I definetly not for decorations. Love your collections. Have a good week.

What a great decor.
I love Susan Branch's books.
Decorating for fall is fun and we get to enjoy it all through November too. I have started and will finish by October. Little by little it will all get done. Men always seem to enjoy Halloween. I know my adult boys always put a lot into it and have great fun. It is a blessing that fall brings us such rich color...the gloomy days are often hard to take after the bright days of summer. Have fun with the village!
I think the first things I want out are candles and apples...start with the smells and then add the colors!
Pretty pretty, I love the flattened pumpkin on the table!!! I want one. Cute village too.
Barb,
As always, gorgeous! I love your home. It is so beautiful!
Blessings,
Kathy
Oh Barb, all your Fall decor is just wonderful! Love your gorgeous wreath! I've got one outside in my patio area that you've inspired me to fix up for Fall!
Your centerpiece arrangement is really adorable too! I go crazy for that sunflower arrangement every time I see it!! They look so real! Gotta find some like those!
Your little fall village is so charming too, and looks like a fun place to visit!
Oh btw, my hubby says to tell that little farmer in the village that he should of bought a John Deere tractor. Lol!
Have a great week!
Hugs, Sherri;)
I am just amazed by all the lovely fall decorations you have. You mentioned being inspired in your previous post, well this one has got me motivated to dig out my few things.
Thanks for sharing your autumn decor.
Beautiful fall decorations! My favorites are the corolers and the village! Love them!

Fall is a STUNNING season at your house Barb.. Macy's needs to hire you for their fall windows.

Love all your photos of past autumns!! It makes me want to start my Fall decorating...but it is still in the 80's and not really feeling like Fall just yet. Wish it would hurry and get here!

Love all your beautiful fall pictures. It really gets me in the mood for fall. Last year I got some really pretty leaf plates at the Dollar Store. I need to get over and check things out this year. You never know what kind of treasures one will find there. I love your fall carolers. So cute!! I enjoy cooking with apples in the fall too. Have a great week. Love & blessings from NC!
Hi Barb!
Everything looks so cozy & inviting! I adore that little pillow... so sweet. Enjoy all the golden colors of fall!

Oh Barb your Fall decorations are wonderful! I haven't done my Autumn stuff yet, but I did just re-paint my living room over the long weekend so I feel great about that. Now to get all the pictures back up in new arrangements and then Fall colors can be added! Have a super day Barb.

Hi Barb, I love the fall village pieces. I have Christmas ones but I have never seen ones for fall before. I look forward each day to seeing the lovely photos you post. Your blog is my favorite one! Have a good day..Hugs, Sue in Ohio
I know I have said it before, but it bears saying again..."I LOVE FALL!" Thanks for sharing your beautiful decorations with us Barb. You have such a beautiful way of displaying your things.
You know I love it ALL :) Remember when we would all post our fall village pics on GF and talk for weeks on end about our love of everything fall? And who could forget the hunt for the leaf placemats!! So fun!
I just adore that little flattened pumpkin on your table (is it a candle?!) and that SQUIRREL! Love it! Wherever did you get that?!
I haven't started my decorating {yet}. I've been working hard to spruce up the landscaping and now that it's done, I'm focusing on a thorough fall cleaning! As I clean, I decorate!!
Miss you!
Judy
Your autumn decor - definitely inspiring!
Beautiful! I'm so lovin' that wreath. Where did you find it?
Jane
Oh my! I love your decor - especially the Fall Village. I decorate with Dept 56 Christmas Villages, but I didn't know there were Fall Villages available. Also loving your Autumn Wreath and that squirrel! How cute!
I'm following your blog and can't wait to see what you do this year!
Thank you for adding beauty, inspiration, and a feeling that Fall is almost here, for me today. I knew I would find it here.
Happy day to you!
Hi Barb, Your fall decor is beautiful, as usual! I love that Autumn book too and was just reading it a few days ago. And you reminded me to get out some of my Byers Choice carolers. Have you ever been to their "factory"? It is beautiful and all the carolers are so nicely displayed. Linda
This is just beautiful! I am loving all this Autumn goodness going on in blogland right now. So pretty.
You're quiet which tells me you're up to your knees in fall decor! Can't wait to see what's new at Bella Vista!
Judy
Your fall village is just beautiful! I love fall and really enjoyed this!

Hi Barb,
I love your fall decor...especially the Fall Village! It's so cute! Can't wait to see the decorations for this year. :)
Hi Barb,
Everything is so pretty! I love all your festive fall touches. This is a fun time of year to decorate, very little pressure to be "perfect", and I love using nature indoors.
Love the granny smiths, too! Great to bake with, yum.

Hi Barb! Everything looks so pretty; I want to stroll down the "street" of your fall village! I picked up that exact ribbon too over the weekend!lol I adore pumpkins also but I think it is mainly for the memories they bring - you know when we were young and dipped in the pumpkin patch for the perfect one; then dipped into the cold gooey mess and pulled out the mush - smelling that sweet pumpkin goodness that would soon lead to bags of candy which we never felt guilty about eating!lol I'm off today to pick up some mums for the porch and then who knows - it is going to be a cool temp day! Yippee!!! Enjoy - Sincerely, Jeannette
My fall bins are waiting for me when I get back from Massachusetts. I am SO ready to do a little fall decorating.
I was reading Judy's comment about the village and fall decorating chatter that we all used to do and the hunt for the placemants. Such fun memories!!
I haven't touched any of my Fall decorations yet but you have inspired me. I don't have that much to take out but try to add a little each year. Thanks so much for the inspiration.
I'm crazy for pumpkins too, Barb. lol
What a good time for me to discover your lovely blog--in (almost) autumn, my favorite time of year. I've enjoyed seeing your amazing village and other fall decorations. I am headed to the attic right now.
Best,
Bonnie
I love all your fall goodies, especially the village. I have a small one that I started a couple of years ago but haven't been able to find any more pieces! Everything I find is geared to halloween and I don't want spooky.
I love that little crow beside the candle thats cute. Here is a recipe for stewed pumpkin.
4 cups of the meaty part of a pumpkin
Cut the pumpkin meat into cubes kinda like the cheese cubes at the grocery store.
2 cups cane syrup
2 tablespoons butter. Stes down pumpkin in a skillet until smooshy. Add syrup and butter. Cook until the pumpkin is brown and soft. This will be very good with a meat and mac n cheese. We eat it with chicken and dumplings! Thought I would pass this along to you, it is a old recipe from my husbands grandmother.
i had to comment because i have that autumn book. it's actually the only fall book i have, the rest are halloween. i love the illustrations in there, aren't they great! love your fall wreath, too!
