Fall Fever

Feeling the Excitement

AcornsSmallSetof3Fall Fever….yep, I have it bad! Hold me back! I have bins of Fall goodies spread out all over my studio….I use this room as command central to organize myself. I am always a bit surprised at the amount of things I actually have once I start unpacking them. (Don’t tell my husband!) :-)

One of the most delightful parts of this unpacking are the smells of so many of my Fall items. I have waxed pinecones that just take me directly into my imagination…..I can almost feel the crisp, cool air.

I am trying to decide if I want to put up my Fall Village this year. It is massive and a ton of work but when it is completed….it will be fabulous. Should I?

I hope you are having a wonderful day. Come on Autumn!

Hugs, Barb

YES!!!! I would love to see it. I have fall on the brain, too. It is the beginning to the most wonderful season. I've started to pull out my goodies and projects and hope to start on my porch this weekend. (I'm ignoring what the thermostat outside says...lol) Patty

I, Barb. What good will it come the autumn there! Here in Brazil we enter the spring and then comes an enormous heat, because here is tropical. In the region where I live, in southern Brazil, the temperature is in the extreme cold in winter (it's snowing) and very hot in summer! I love the autumn is my favorite season. Enjoy all you can and decorate your house with the theme this season. I would like to see your ideas in your blog, I'm waiting! Hugs,Fatima-Scrapart.

A fall village would be a lot of work but if you start now you have all the way through Thanksgiving to enjoy it. I'm going to do my Christmas village this year, but won't start until after Thanksgiving. It's a fun thing to do also. The weather here is blissfully cooler today.

Well . . . I want to see it, but anything that involves so much work . . . to me, right now wouldn't get done. I looked around the other day and thought, "Since I am not having anyone over for Christmas this year, do I really want to put it all up?" LAZY! Yup - that's me right now. Too hot to work once I come home from work! LOL
I vote you do whatever your little heart desires.
Now then - wasn't I a lot of help?
:) HUGZ! Karen

Whether you choose to put it up or not, I will still look forward to all visits here and never leave without feeling inspired and blessed. You take a season like Fall and do the impossible...you add even more beauty to it. I love your enthusiasm for my favorite season. Your acorns look so good with the orange seeds.

Love your wooden acorns, but here the squirrels are dropping the real ones out of the oak tree on the metal roof of our mobile home and it is very loud. They started out very small about a month ago but now are about the size of a quarter. It gets annoying after a while. Have a good fall.

Barb, how I'd love to see fall blow on in. We've had a cool front come our way so now our temps are better. Down in the 90s from the 107+ range. I'm definitely ready for fall. Love the little vignette on the mantel. I have some of those same acorns. Wish I could find more. I just happened upon some of these last fall in a clearance bin at Michaels. I scooped up all they had.
Hope you feel like putting up the fall village. I'd love to see it! ~ Sarah

Hi Barb,

I'm with you! Fall is where I want to be. I have been decorating the house and making things to go around the house for a few weeks now. Plus, I'm getting married this fall. A little bit of that story will be on my blog tomorrow for my celebration of Tasha Tudor Day.

I hope you do end up putting up your fall village and I also hope you take lots and lots of photos of it and post it on your blog. I would love to see it.

I hope you have a beautiful fall-ish weekend,
Susan

Apparently I am not the only one who has begun fall decorating, Barb! It is my favorite time of the year and I got into the mood last week when the temps began to fall.... It is gorgeous out now- no humidity. There is a crispness to the air and it is TIME for autumn to makes its appearance. LOL Looking forward to seeing all your pretties. hugs, Sue

I don't know about Florida, but in central England we're already seeing signs of the seasonal change. Once the Labour Day weekend is over, I'm going to be setting up for Autumn.

Do what makes your heart happy, dear Barb! You know how much me and Kristie love our fall villages...but they are a ton of work to set up and put away. I actually didn't do a single one this year. I find that I appreciate my special things all the more when I put them out less frequently.

As for fall fever, I have it badly! Unfortunately I've been sick for a few weeks now so things have to wait until I'm better :)

Happy Fall!

Barb, I always feel like I am the caboose getting into the fall spirit. Our muggy weather in Florida is definitely a deterrent. Your mentioning the scents of fall made me perk my head up though. I love the warm scents that come to mind. Your lovely mantel is a big help too!
