Decorating the Mantel on a Natural Field Rock Fireplace
Hello everyone….I am joining Mantel Friday hosted by Beth at The Stories of A to Z. Please visit her blog for a list of participants and all the lovely mantels that will be shown this week.
This is the mantel on our Living Room fireplace. The fireplace itself is massive with fieldstone going from floor to a twelve foot ceiling. For the longest time I thought I would paint it white….but now I am glad I did not. The fieldstone is gorgeous and adds much texture and warmth to our living room.
I have decorated it with plates in a golden color and some old books…..which I adore! I am always on the hunt for old books of any kind.
Thanks so much for stopping by this week. I hope you enjoyed my pictures. Please come back soon.
Barb
Your mantel is gorgeous, Barb! I love the mirror and pretty vase of flowers. We have a field stone fireplace at the lake, it is much more rustic, but the grout is white and it lends a lighter feel. Wow...I really do love that mirror!

Barb, your mantel is beautiful. I'm glad you didn't paint the stone. There's no turning back from that. :) It looks like your mantel has posts on the sides. Neat!
ReplyDeleteOh, Barb, I am so glad you didn't paint your fieldstone fireplace! It's gorgeous, as are the beuatiful items you've chosen to embellish it with...the mirror, the beautiful rose place, and the wonderful pineapple lamp...I love pineapples, the symbol of hospitality. As always, I love visiting your home and seeing your beautiful decorating talent...you are always an inspiration to me!

ReplyDeleteLove the creamy golden plates...they are so pretty and the fireplace itself is amazing! I'm sure it is the focal point in your living room and your dressed it up just right. : )
Barb ~ Hello Dear! I adore mantels and yours is just gorgeous - decorated to perfection, in my opinion. Particular favorites are the gorgeous mirror, plates and old books - I love them too!
ReplyDeleteSo very glad you did not rush into painting the fireplace white! I think things should only be painted if they're really crummy or nondiscript. That's not happening here. The feldstone is outstanding and beautiful.
Come see me...
