I made this dessert recently...it is my husband's favorite...and it is easy, easy and soooo delicious! Thought you might like the recipe.
6 Tablespoons butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla
3/4 cup milk
1 (29 oz) can of sliced peaches, drained
Melt butter and spread evenly in a 9 x 9 baking dish. In a separate bowl, mix sugar, flour, baking powder, vanilla and milk together. Mix well. Pour mixture over the melted butter and do not stir. Add the drained peaches to the top of the batter with a slotted spoon. Try to not move the batter any more than possible. Do not stir. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until golden brown. Sprinkle with sugar when removed from oven. Serve warm with ice cream, if desired.

I wonder if I can do this with apples? I'm going to try because I have been looking for an old fashioned cobbler recipe.
I'm going to try it, but I think I'll add a generous handful of blackberries. I have some in the freezer! Yummm!
Yummmmm...we love this one, too!
Dear Barb, My Mom started making this when I was a child. (I am now a Grandmother) Delicious, quick, easy dessert, especially good with Vanilla Ice Cream while it is still hot. For a variation try a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar on the top before you bake it.
Have a super weekend. Best wishes for much BLISS, Carol

Oh how I long for this horrid 90+ weather to go away so I could put a lovely cobbler like this in the oven. We have guests tomorrow and I'd love to serve this but, instead, we are putting chops on the BBQ and having salad. No ovens! I'm keeping this recipe though - this weather can't last forever can it?
In my mind, this seems like a perfect Fall dessert...warm peach cobbler and ice cream. I am all for easy recipes. Thank you for this one. I actually have the ingredients on hand today.
Wishing you a relaxing Sunday.
Easy doesn't half describe ir! I love peaches and will make this dish soon.

Manuela
Thanks Barb! This sounds so easy and delicious which is what I like. Hope you had a wonderful weekend.
If a recipe says easy I am thrilled:) I love peaches but since my little GS is allergic, strange but true, I have limited my peach recipes this summer even if they are my favorite fruit besides watermellon:) If I was at your home I would be diving into that dish with two spoons!

Hi Barb! Hope you had a great weekend! I only picked up 2 small leaf dishes from Walmart to go with one I bought last year! Then I thought "now what would Barb do with these!!(really I did!!) I couldn't believe I wasn't in the mood to shop!! Can you imagine that!!!lol I did go to Joanne's today to get some "fat quarters" for a yo-yo project I'm doing which hopefully I'll complete soon!lol We had a plumbing issue ALL DAY Saturday so my weekend wasn't very productive as I played "go-fer" to my husband's plumbing job!(he isn't a plumber in real life!!)lol I am getting ready to go give myself a pedicure and turn on tv; HGTV has a color special at 8 and then it's drop dead diva and to bed for this diva!!!lol DO NOT WANT TO GO TO WORK TOMORROW!!!lol Looking forward to seeing what you'll be up to this week! (I'm going to try and slip on during my lunches this week???) Have a FUN FUN Fall week! Thinking of you, Jeannette
I've never been much of a cook but I'll have to try this. It's my hubby's favorite. When he and his brothers were teenagers his mom made a 9x13 peach cobbler EVERY NIGHT! She cut it in half both ways, 4 pieces ~ dad and the 3 boys ate the whole thing and she would do it again the next afternoon. Now he's lucky if he gets one home made one a year, poor guy.
Hugs,
Dawn
Oh Barb!
How did you know that peach cobbler is my favorite desert!! This one really DOES sound easy and delicious too!! I'll have to try it!
Btw...I bought some peach tea for the first time because I know its your favorite!!
Now my favorite too! The taste reminds me of peach cobbler...and has a lot less calories!!
Big hugs,
Sherri:)
