Thinking and Dreaming


I was out doing some work in the flower beds this morning and it was hot...but definitely a different kind of hot than normal. Alright....okay! I have a vivid imagination...are you satisfied? Hehehe, I can't help it...Fall is on my mind and I am not one to be dictated to by the present weather conditions...gracious me! Are you the tinest bit excited?

    First wanted to let you know that you did a smash up job with the Rooster Party. I am still visiting people!!

    I have the Autumn book by Susan Branch. In fact, it is autographed by her, as I ordered it from her website. She has a new book coming out soon and although it will have recopes, she has hinted that it will NOT be a cookebook. I have all of her books. I have been a fan since B.C. lol!! You inspired me to bring out the Autumn book to look through tonight.

    Your advice regarding fall decorating did a lot to inspite me as well. I started to collect some silk flowers, but rather than orange, I have some very vibrant berry and yellow colors. I have learned quite a bit from my friend Jody from our floral shop on making faux flower arrangements and I am having fun!

  2. oh yes...I am smelling Fall...at least I think I am..my sister blessed me with a Pumkin Patch scented candle and room spray from Bath & Body Works..and IF you scroll down on my blog..you will see I made a FALL swag/garland....and
    Prayerfully by then I will be walking !!!
    Fall-Autumn...my favorite season...

  3. It is only 80 this AM here in Hotlanta Georgia and I can feel the change coming but I really need to hold onto summer for a few more weeks. I am having so much fun viewing the Roosters. Thanks again for hosting.

Barb, after such hot sulty weather here in Southern VA I woke up this morning to a pleasant surprise...FAll is in the air here as it was almost chilly...I'm sitting in my den typing this and have ALL the windows opened in my house with the nicest breeze blowing through...Ahhhhh...Fall is on the way my Friend.   7. The strangest thing is going on here in Edmond. It's usually around 100 this time of year. Right now it's in the 70s and has been cool for a week or two. We absolutely love it!

  10. Yes Barb, I am ready for fall. I have some of my decorations out but have to get more. Isn't it exciting? Just keep telling yourself it's a "different" kind of hot when you are out there working in the flower beds. LOL It sure feels like fall here since the weekend with the highs in the low 70's and nights in the low 50's. I'm LOVING it!! Want me to send some your way?

  12. Barb, it is definately feeling like fall for me. We had only in the 60's this weekend and night time it was in the 40's it was rather chilly.

    You can tell the difference already here in the sun rays and the air and so many trees have changed or started to change colors already.

    So good to have talked with you last week.

    It feels like Fall where I live, the weather feels wonderful today (even though I spent most of it sitting in the hospital with my Mom this morning) When I came home I sat out on my garden swing---one of my favorite places to be---and did get to enjoy the nice weather. Relax, enjoy yourself...Now that your big Party is over...

  17. Barb, I'm certainly ready for fall! This morning was so cool (70s) I couldn't believe it! We've had triple digit days all summer, so today felt like a cold front! In fact I've even gotten back into the garden in the mornings. Things definitely need my attention out there! Feels good to dig in the dirt again.
    This looks like a good book. I'll try to find a copy.
    Thanks again for hosting the rooster party. I'm one of the slow ones and still working my way through all the fantastic posts. I will visit each one. Would miss a rooster party.
    Have to say I had more fun last week! I am truly amazed that there were so few duplicates among all the collections. And the creative posts were great fun. There is a huge amount of creativity to be found in Blogville. I'm happy I've found this venue!

  24. I cannot wait for fall. Its been so hot here. Today it was 110 and I thought I would die from the heat! I see all the fall decorations in the stores and I can't wait to get all my stuff out. Fall is my favorite decorating time! Looking at your post you got me all excited!

  31. We have had some wonderful weather in Oklahoma....lows in the 60's and highs in the mid 80's. Hard to believe since we are normally melting in the heat right now. I absolutely LOVE it but I am trying to hold off my Fall decorating a little bit longer.

    I'm so so ready for fall too and some cooler temps! Hot weather and hot flashes are no fun!!

    I do love your enthusiam though, and your Susan Branch book! You did actually inspire me get a few fall decorations put together, but unfortunately I don't think my heart will truly be in it until it starts to feel like fall around here... todays high 93 tomorrow 99 ugh!

    Oh well, at least it's finally September, and that means fall is just around the corner! Yay!

  40. OH, I have many of Susan Branch's books..I love this one the most! I also have in my collection many of the Country Living magazine ad pages of Susan's art, from 1988 and 89. I am so happy I saved them. I have some to frame.
    She is a fantastic Artist! Love the recipes too!
