I love lighthouses. This is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteWe went traipsing around the Ozarks, yesterday. When we were climbing back up the trail, from our little hike, I told J it reminded me of the time we went to the shore below Split Rock Light, in MN. The climb down was not so bad, but I don't think I could make that climb back, to the lighthouse, these days! WOW! Then we climbed the steps in the lighthouse! Cooler days and younger folks!
Beautiful...thanks for sharing. Love the lighthouse and I'm a sucker for an old twisted tree....has a lot of character.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun day but not sure I would even climb all those stairs on a cool day:)
ReplyDeleteJoyce
Great picture of the lighthouse. Sorry, can't help with the kind of tree that is.
ReplyDeleteGlenda
Well, you might know I am totally in luvvv with that black and white lighthouse. Nope..I couldn't climb that many stair anymore but I sure can enjoy looking at this great photos...
ReplyDeleteYou are very good with your camera!!
xo bj
Beautiful!!! I love the lighthouse and the tree is spectacular!!!
ReplyDeleteI agree about the stairs...everything is way more fun in the fall...when the weather is bearable!!!
All of your photos are sooo beautiful!!!
Enjoy!!!
XOXO
Cathy
Your photos are just fantastic. Don't you wish you could just capture those times and hold them in your mind forever. In the cool days of fall, the trip up would be more pleasant. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteCharla
Love it all Sweet B! I wouldn't have even attempted to climb those stairs.
ReplyDeleteI also sooo love the beautiful tree. God's goodness is overflowing with this lovely example of His handiwork.
God is good, all the time.
Love, Rebecca PS: Yes, I do paint more than just pink roses. Grapes, ivy, hydrangeas...they just don't inspire me as much as roses do... :) xo
For a landlocked girl, I am in love with lighthouses. I love this one and have seen it once when I visited St. Augustine. I was there to see the oldest school in America!
ReplyDeleteLighthouses are charming. This one looks interesting because of the unusual roof on the adjoining building. I'd like to see inside it too. Don't blame you about those steps!
ReplyDeleteThe lighthouse is gorgeous. I love the black and white barber pole stripes. I also love the sound of the birds!
ReplyDeleteI love that tree also!
ReplyDeleteI would love to visit St. Augustine and your pics are just so pretty! Thanks Barb, and thanks for your nice comments too. Cindy
ReplyDeleteHow charming. I don't blame you for not climbing the stairs.
ReplyDeleteThat tree is lovely.
Rhonda
Barb, loved seeing the lighthouse. I have been to the top, and I have vertigo... two friends wedged me between them! LOL! I love the lighttender's house, too. I'm thinking that the tree you pointed out is a very old cedar that has been thinned out. It looks like ferns are growing up its branches. We have that on an oak at our residence. The next time you come over, call me. I would love to hook up with you. We have a retreat there.
ReplyDeleteHappy Outdoor Wednesday...
XO,
Sheila :-)
Barb, I love the lighthouse, I've never seen one up close and personal. They are very intriquing, we don't have them here in the west!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
That tree is so majestic, I bet it looks creepy at night though!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pictures : )
Great post... I love the lighthouse! Oh and that tree... its the best dressed tree I have ever seen!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.

I love St. Augustine, it is such a quaint town. You have a beautiful photo of the lighthouse..Christine
ReplyDeleteI have just finished reading Eugenia Price's first book in the St. Augustine Series. How timely that you should create this lovely post now.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day, Barb.

I have never been to St. Augustine but their lighthouse is beautiful!! I am sure I would have felt the same about climbing the stairs in the heat, as you did. Your photos are amazing!!
ReplyDeleteI was at Neptune Beach in May and my cousin planned to take me to St. Augustine for my first visit. That's when it rained non-stop for a week — the week of my vacation! So, until I have the chance to go again, I will enjoy your beautiful photos.
ReplyDeleteI don't know why lighthouses feel so romantic to me ~ I guess it's because they represent a time gone by. The only one I've seen on the West coast is at Santa Cruz. It was a small one that now houses a surfing museum.
ReplyDeleteI hope whatever is growing on that tree doesn't kill it! Have you seen the post @ Cote de Texas about the historic trees all dying because of the huricane and too much saltwater? It's so sad.
Dawn
Barb..Thanks for the tour...refreshed I feel like I've been on vacation! Happy Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteLove the lighthouse picture. That is one of the places we plan to go to if we go south some winter.I love quaint places.

Hi Barb! I have not been to St Augustine since I was a child...lovely! The lighthouse is gorgeous...but climb it? Nope. Not me! Scared of heights and that open feeling up there! Gorgeous old tree! Enjoy your week!...Debbie
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful lighthouse! Too bad it was so hot that you couldn't climb it. The tree looks shady and cool, though :)

ReplyDeleteHi Barb,
ReplyDeleteGreat photos and what a fun outing! I would have never made it up to the top of that light house either in the heat!! But it's a very cool lighthouse! Beautiful tree too, sorry though I'm clueless as well!
Have a wonderful Wednesday sweetie!
Sherri:)

That tree is so beautiful!! I wonder what its called and how old it is.
ReplyDeleteHappy OW!!
I love lighthouses and this looks so east coast - ours aren't painted like that out here and it's fun to see! I don't blame you for not wanting to climb those steps in the heat.
ReplyDeleteHappy OW!

St. Augustine abounds with wonderful history & is so beautifully kept. Love it there. That is a very pretty tree ... wonderful stature to it. I wouldn't climb those stairs heat or not ... love the lighthouses. We had a ball in New England popping all over just to visit them ... each has its own personality. TTFN~ Marydon
ReplyDeleteOh, I love light houses! I don't get to see them much where I live. So thanks for sharing with me!
ReplyDeleteBrenda
That's a beautiful lighthouse. I'm not sure what type of tree that is, but it sure is pretty.
ReplyDeleteJane
St Augustine is on my bucket list of places to visit. The lighthouse is wonderful and you were so close to precious Mrs Magpie! (Sheila)
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't have been able to climb the stairs in the heat and humidity this time of year! The fall sounds wise.
Beth~♥
Wow! That's one interesting tree! Love that shot the best Barb!
ReplyDeleteHi Barb, love the light house. I have been to San Augustine about 6 years ago, while visiting my cousins in Jax. Also, I've climbed a light house here in Palos Verdes Peninsula, and it was scary (for the stiff flight of stairs.
ReplyDeleteI've read so much about St. Augustine. I noticed another commenter mentioned Eugenia Price. She is one of my favorite authors! Beautiful pics. Don't blame you for not climbing up in the heat.
ReplyDeleteChristi
Barb, St. Augustine is one of our favorite FL cities. When our kids were younger, we went to FL a lot and they loved St. A. Your pics are great. They bring back a lot of memories! ~~Rhonda
ReplyDeleteMy Publisher vacations in St. Augustine every summer and I keep saying I want to go. Maybe next summer!
ReplyDeleteFantastic! I love the lighthouse.
ReplyDeleteWonderful post.
Happy outdoor.
