Outdoor Wednesday

Hello and welcome to Outdoor Wednesday hosted by Susan at A Southern Daydreamer. Please go by her blog and check out all the wonderful participants.

Here are a couple of random pictures from around the yard. Many of our plants are really struggling with the mid-summer heat....which is awful!

Thanks for stopping in and taking a look. Have a wonderful Wednesday!

I know the plants are really having a hard time with the crazy weather all of you have been having down South, but your flowers are still looking quite pretty. I love all your garden ornaments~those are the favorites of mine in all gardens. I also notice the little doggie carrier in the first pic!! A nice little place to get respite from the heat!!

Have a wonderful week, Barb!! :-)

I know what you mean about struggling! Even if we get torrential rain one day, it's so hot and humid the next that things are drooping by mid afternoon! But your flowers look beautiful so they seem to be dealing with the heat!

Your flower pictures are wonderful! You mentioned on my blog that you believe that we probably started blogging about the same time. I just noticed you posted the date when you started yout blog, and it was one week after I started mine...Look how far you have come...
You know so much more about blogging than I do, and your blog is so wonderful to look at, and so many people enjoy it...

Your flowers look beautiful. I've been wishing for some heat. It's been so cold her in New England. We have finally had a few warm, sunny days and it feels so good! Temps in the 80's. I know it's been so hot down south, I hope it cools down for you.

Hi Barb.. They're still looking great.. I love the one in the first photo. Sadly I've lost all of the blooms on my day lilies to the lack of rain and heat here.. plus we're still under a watering ban. Have a great week!

Your flowers are so big and beautful!

We have not had much heat but all the early spring rain wrecked havoc with my tomatoes..they are very late.

Happy Outdoor Wednesday! It's my first one.

Your's are doing much better than mine. I have two boganvillas right next to each other. One morning I went out and one had dropped ALL it's flowers but the leaves were fine and are still green. A few days later the other one just totally shriveled up flowers, leaves and all!
I'm thinking about going up to the attic and pulling out all of grandmas plastic flowers she had outside and putting them back!

Oh you are so lucky to still have some color at least! Arizona is in the triple digits and above 110! My garden has just given up... I don't blame it.
That's BEAUTIFUL music playing in the background too!
Hope your week is going well...

Thanks for sharing. Yes, the heat has been hard on plants. We've had about 5 inches of rain in the last 3 weeks or so which is great since we'd had none for about that long before. My Squash have just given up. I harvested enough over a couple of weeks to cook one time and that was it. The Cukes seem to be drought resistant. They are just so prolific and I only have 3 plants. 1 would have been enough since I'm not preserving them. I would rather have had the Zuchinni live but it bit the dust weeks ago.
Trying to stay cool,

Your yard looks so beautiful! We have not had any midsummer heat to contend with, here in Manitoba, but that means our plants are healthy, I guess. Thank you for coming by my blog and commenting. Be sure to come back some time and I will do the same here. Hugs, ~cindy s~

I was just saying to Sue at Luxe Lanai that I often envy her long season of hot weather in Fla. but I forget that the heat can be just as hard on the plants as the cold.

I think your plants look lovely! I know what you mean about heat though. We just came through a mini-heat wave. Over 100 for three days and everything is just wilted. They're kind of pitiful when I go out to water.

Happy Outdoor Wednesday!
