Welcome to the fifth week of Project Friday hosted by Rosemarie at Sugarplum Cottage. Please check her blog for all information. Thanks Rosemarie! http://sugarplumcottage.blogspot.com/Decorative Faux Cakes

Easter grass in your choice of colors
Hot glue gun and glue
Popsicle sticks
Decorative elements for the top.
Start by gluing the two discs together
Apply a dot or two of glue to the discs and apply a bit of grass
Push the grass into the glue with the popsicle sticks and not your hands!
Finish sides first and then the top of discs
Use scissors to shape the cake in the desired look.
Top with faux elements of your choice and place on a pretty dish.
**This craft looks (and is) simple but does require some practice.
Hope you like this. I really enjoy the look of these faux cakes in my home.

Hi Barb,
Thank you so much for asking about me. It's been a very trying week for our family. Thankyou for caring...that means so much!! :)
I just purchased the rest of the things to make a faux cake today, so when I saw your post I smiled and thanks for the popsicle sticks tip because I hadn't thought of that. :)
Have a GREAT weekend and hope to hear from you again soon. You are such a dear friend!!!
Hugs & Blessings,
~Katherine~
They look so real Barb and the best part of all; no calories :)
I've been away all day and am just now visitin' with everyone. Do you know what these sell for I've been dying for one to go on my kitchen counter, but wouldn't pay $79.00 for it. This has got to be the best project every. I'm running out to get my stuff and make me one. Thank you so much for participating and being so faithful at it.
You also won my monthly Project Friday give-away. Every month I'm putting all the names together, and the one I draw out wins the monthly prize. Your name will be wrote down for each week you participate, so you had your name in 4 times. Just send me your address and it will caught the next train out. Hugs, Rosemarie
