Switching Gears

How was your Thanksgiving?

I have to laugh at myself, here I am just tired and stuffed and my mind is shifting over to another holiday.

This is the first Thanksgiving I can remember that I haven't put up any trees or decorations....

so far! :-)

Never fear....they are coming. Isn't this such a wonderful time of the year?

Hope your holiday was blessed.

Fleeting Days of November

Hi Everyone,

The days of November are passing so quickly. Does it feel that way to you?

I am planning our Thanksgiving dinner and making lists. Thanksgiving and Christmas are the only two times I make lists....I don't like them as a general rule.

There is so much to do and so many things to remember but I am trying to savor each and every minute. I hope you are also.

I have a savory stew in the slow cooker for dinner is making the house smell so comfy and that. The weather is cooler and delightful....this is just such a lovely time.

Enjoy every minute.

A Thanksgiving Hutch

 Hello All,

When we remodeled our kitchen in 2013, this piece of furniture didn't work in the new design.

I love I refused to part with it and have moved it into the living room. It doesn't work there either.....but where there is a will, there is a way.

Much thought has been put into where I can place it in our home. It is a large (large!) farmhouse hutch that I adore and it is my favorite piece of furniture for seasonal decorating.

So, this piece will be moved to the family room in January. It will take a couple of big men to move it. It will be perfect in this large and light-filled space. I am excited!

I wanted you to see the Thanksgiving design it held before it was moved, originally.

I love Thanksgiving and the very thought of it makes me happy.

When you truly love something.....refuse to part with it. With a bit of time and some thought, you can make it work.

Living with what you love can bring rewards you never dreamed of.

Hope your day is special and thanks for your visit.
